Specification

Application:

AAAC - All Aluminum Alloy Conductor is used for primarily and secondary overhead transmission and distribution services. AAAC conductor is designed utilizing a high-strength aluminum alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio and better sag characteristic. AAAC conductor has a higher resistance to corrosion than ACSR. 

Conductors:

AAAC conductor is a concentric lay stranded conductor consisting of Aluminum Alloy 6201-T81 wires, similar in appearance to a 1350 grade aluminum conductor.

Notes: DC resistance at 20°C of the 6201-T81 alloy has a greater resistance to abrasion than conductors of 1350-H19 grade aluminum.

AAAC - All Aluminum Alloy 6201 Conductor Utility Wire

AAAC refers to All Aluminum Alloy Conductor. This cable is designed to use a high strength Aluminum alloy to attain the high strength to weight ratio as well as good sagging characteristic. Just as its name implies this cable has a stranded concentric lay rope conductor which is of Aluminum alloy 6201-T81. It has a higher corrosion resistance as compared to ACSR cables.

AAAC has three code word; Akron, Butte and Flint. Akron measures 30.58 KCM with a nominal cross sectional area of 0.610mm2 totalling to 503.49 kg/km in weight. Butte measures 312.8KCM with a nominal cross sectional area of 6.238mm2, weighing 4989.52kg/km. Flint measures 740.8KCM and a nominal cross sectional area of 19.863mm2. AAAC Cable with the Flint code word is the heaviest weighing 13834.57kg/km.

Conductor's workability

All Aluminum Alloy Conductor consist of 6201-T81 Aluminum Alloy wires, which largely looks like the 1350 grade Aluminum conductor. It offers good electrical conductivity. DC resistance at 20 degrees Celsius for the 6201-T81 series has a greater abrasive resistance than 1350-H19 Aluminum conductor series. The conductor is also resistant to moisture and weather. It is lightweight and flexible hence requires less effort to move around during installation.
